Help Me Restore Beauty to the Performing Arts

About this Project:

I ran an arts center teaching dance, theatre and music out of our home for 20 years, but not with the intention of making income. I just wanted to help make kids lives better. Well, my 4 daughters grew up, went to school/work and I decided to take a hiatus from the arts and focus on my 2 boys. Unfortunately, my husband was laid off of work and I decided to pursue a new arts center as a business outside of my home.

The arts have changed so much as time moves on and unfortunately often has left beauty behind. With dance for example, competitive dance has replaced artistic dance, making kids compete against each other instead of just focusing on providing the audience with a great and inspiring performance.

My dream is to run this business in Frankfort, IL and hopefully work alongside my husband. Since income is important now, I realize if we can just get enough people in the door (since the people that venture in tend to stay), we can be well on our way to realizing our vision.
